In the fall of 2024, Palestinian chef Fadi Kattan and his Canadian business partner, Nicole Mankinen, embarked on a journey to bring louf to life in Toronto.
Set against the backdrop of the ongoing violence in Palestine, the documentary follows the opening of our restaurant, capturing the challenges, emotions, and moments of connection that shaped its beginnings.
Through intimate moments in and beyond the kitchen, LOUF explores the relationship between food, identity, displacement, and belonging, and what it means to create a space rooted in Palestinian culture far from home.
